Who we are?
DESERT ROSE supports companies in expanding their business across Central Asia and the Caucasus. Our team combines deep regional expertise, strong local partnerships, and proven methodologies to deliver sustainable and measurable business growth.
The company was founded by Johan Vanderplaetse, a seasoned business executive who has held senior leadership positions in leading multinational companies and institutions, including EBRD, Alcatel/Nokia, Emerson, and Schneider Electric. Over a career spanning more than thirty years, Johan has successfully developed businesses across Russia, Central Asia, and the broader Eurasian region.
Shortly after the company’s establishment, Aleksei Sokolov joined DESERT ROSE. Aleksei brings extensive experience from his many years as a Partner at Egon Zehnder, with deep expertise in leadership advisory services, including executive search, leadership assessment and development, board advisory, and corporate governance. Peter Novotny later joined as Strategic Advisor, contributing his experience from Neumann International and DHR Global across Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.
Together with our Advisory Board—composed of highly experienced and well-connected business leaders—DESERT ROSE provides support across three core domains.
